Northrop Grumman offers teachers taste of Zero g (zero-gravity)

Science and math can be dry and boring. But they can also be a blast when teachers bring contagious excitement into the classroom and their students’ minds.

That, plus concerns about maintaining the United States’ technological competitiveness, is the thrust of the Weightless Flights of Discovery program. It’s put on by the Northrop Grumman Foundation, an education-focused non-profit wing of Northrop Grumman Corp., and is coming to San Jose for a workshop on Sept. 3 and flights on Sept. 18.

Northrop Grumman has teamed up with an outfit called Zero Gravity Corp. to fly middle school teachers in a specially outfitted plane called G-Force One. Once they’re airborne, the fun begins.
